Each year just before Thanksgiving, Osborne Wood Products hands out a turkey to each employee.

"This long-time tradition was inspired by a job I held prior to starting Osborne Wood Products." said Leon Osborne, CEO. "I knew it was something I wanted to continue to do with my own company and it's a favored tradition of many Osborne employees!"

Stiles Machinery hosted a sold-out Manufacturing Solutions Seminar on Nov. 8-9 at its showroom in High Point, N.C.

The event, which is held twice a year in the fall and spring, received an overwhelmingly positive response, reaching full capacity and closing registration more than two weeks in advance due to the high level of interest, according to Stiles. Read more

The WCMA is please to welcome Empire Forest Products as a new WCMA Manufacturing Member.

Empire Forest Products is proudly celebrating 20 years in business, catering to the Hardwood & Softwood markets across Canada and the United States. Based out of Burlington, Ontario (about 40 minutes outside of Toronto) EFP is a family company, owned and operated by Founder and President Darren Lindsay his son Cooper Lindsay.

Over the last 5 years, they have expanded their sales & purchasing team, to ensure that customer needs are always met as the company grows and expands its reach throughout the lumber industry.

Their sales & purchasing team brings over 125 years of combined experience in the lumber industry. This, coupled with their strategic partnerships with various mills scattered across North America, as well as custom drying their own material, allows them to meet any of their customers’ wide array of specifications. Finally, all members of the EFP team are certified hardwood lumber inspectors in order to provide the highest quality service and product knowledge to their customers.

Plants Open Doors for WCMA Tours

11/2/2023

Regional events put on by the Wood Component Manufacturers Association always have plant tours as a big draw, and the association’s September event in Ohio attracted good attendance with visits to 10 different plants.

The meeting was a joint event with participation also from members of the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America. Companies on the tour showed off a wide variety of wood products manufacturing, lumber processing, and machinery technology. Read more
