Students Explore High-Demand Skilled Trades at Workshop as Employers Struggle to Fill Openings2/5/2026
This year, 13 schools and more than 100 students visited KFP to connect with 15 local businesses, learning firsthand about career pathways, essential skills, and job opportunities in the skilled trades. We were also honored to welcome Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer, who stopped by to experience the event and see the value of work-based learning opportunities in action.
It is always encouraging to see the enthusiasm and curiosity students bring to this event each year. Their eagerness to explore career opportunities reinforces the importance of showcasing the many rewarding paths available right here in Northeast Iowa. See the news broadcast of this story here.
