The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) is pleased to announce another date for its due care training course for wood trade professionals. The day-long training program, Seeing the Forest and the Trees, was developed in partnership with the World Resources Institute using funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
The day-long course will arm professionals buying and selling wood products with the latest information to help them establish standard operating procedures to comply with the Lacey Act and other important laws relevant to the trade in wood products, including regulations on formaldehyde, CITES and CBP audits.
By attending Seeing the Forest and the Trees, previous attendees have identified the need to update their compliance procedures and were given a “sense of confidence when filling out documents” and learning new ways to update their compliance priorities. Based on feedback months after attending training, 100 percent of attendees who responded felt the course was helpful in their daily work and more than half refer back to their training manual regularly.
Who should attend?
CEOs, CFOs, buyers, compliance staff, customs specialists, sales staff, overseas producers and exporters.
